Nr. 37-13 In Bewegung 2010 Acryl, Bleistift
No. 37-13 In Movement 2010 acrylics, pencil
That's how it works with movement... Only who is in movement, can get something under way.

No. 36 -12 Up in the air 2010 acrylics, pencil, watercolor.pencil
Ok, so we see a figure with the legs up in the air. So what. Here we could stop thinking. Yet if we are willing to continue thinking and feeling, we even discover more.

Nr. 34-10 Gebogen 2010 Acryl, Bleistift, Farbstift
Heraklit
(griechischer Philosoph um 550 vChr - um 480 vChr)
No.34-10 Arched 2010 acrylics, pencil, coloured-pencil
From this perspective the world looks a little bit different. This altered view brings about new insights and perceptions:
"Not the circumstances cause discomfort, but our attitude towards them." Heraklit (Greek philosopher around 550 - 480 B.C.)

Donnerstag, 26. August 2010

Nr 33-9 Gesammelt 2010 Acryl, Bleistift
No. 33-9 Focused 2010 acrylics, pencil
Now the figure is standing: attentively, in contemplation and concentrated.
(This time it was also hard to translate the German title. It too has a double meaning...next time I will pick a title, which can be translated more easily)

Nr. 32-8 Neigung 2010 Acryl, Bleistift, Farbstift
No.32-8 Inclination 2010 acrylics, pencil, coloured-pencil
When one devotes oneself to something, then we will be led and guided to our inclinations and dispositions.(The German title "Neigung" means inclination on the one hand and leaning - of the body for example - on the other hand. I couldn't come up with an English word, which has both of these meanings)

No. 31-7 Topsyturvy 2010 acrylics, pencil
It's impossible to translate the German title. Literally it means to put or place something on top of ones head. But idiomatically it means "topsyturvy". Figuratively one could contemplate about this matter - depending on one's own momentary situation in life.(I hope this makes sense in English.)

Nr. 25-1 Beutel 2010 Acryl, Bleistift, Faserstift
No. 25-1 Bag 2010 acrylics, pencil, felttip-pen
This daily painting went through a lot of changes. At first the figure was completely black and looked like a cut-out silhouette. I have often done figures in this way in the past. But here it just didn't fit. The second figure (a man?) is at the right side of the painting: at least with a foot and hand. The bag was the last detail, which was added at the very end. Let's see how this story developes.
VERKAUFT AM 7.7.2010; SOLD ON JULY 7TH, 2010

Nr. 25 - 1 Entwurf 2010

No. 25 - 1 Draft version 2010

Now I am in the phase of developing my idea for the new series. Here is the draft version. Tomorrow I will upload the finished painting into my blog.

Freitag, 2. Juli 2010

Nr. 24 Zusammenspiel 2010 20 x 20 cm Acryl, Bleistift

No. 24 Interplay 2010 20 x 20 cm acrylics, pencil

The figure is back - the second one: a man. The figure on the right in a half-yoga-sitting-position is centered and yet open for interaction.
It could be that I will finish this series with this daily painting or the next one. Then I will beginn something new. I believe, I might reinitiate this series after a certain amount of time. This weekend I will give myself "blog-off" ( of course I want to watch our soccer team in Africa play - and win - on Saturday) and at the beginning of next week I will continue my dailys.
